Man, I haven't updated in like... over two weeks. D8 This is especially weird considering that important shit has actually been going on:

• My brother went off to college! I thought I'd be sad, but the only real difference in my life has been peace and quiet and the occasional realization of HEY I DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT MY LITTLE BROTHER SCREWING ____ UP ANYMORE. As our final family excursion, we went to see The Dark Knight in IMAX; my second time in IMAX, their first time. They were all v. impressed, which is saying something considering this was my parents' THIRD TIME seeing the movie. YEAH. MY PARENTS. THREE TIMES JESUS. My grand total is five times now ogawd.

• I started the fall semester of school! \o/ I'm taking Speech 1, Astronomy 1, and Film 1. In Film 1, I somehow ended up sitting next to this girl who ended up in my mini-discussion group and with whom I had the following exchanges:

Exchanges. )

We ended up talking about shows and movies and stuff during the break and she also fangirled the exact same way over how Dark Knight was written so amazingly and adapted so brilliantly from the comics specifically with the parallels between Two-Face and the Joker and Batman and SO DELICIOUS kasdjhfk which is something I uh DID NOT EXPECT to come across RANDOMLY. Plus, she's interested in writing. WHUT.

I also ended up running into an old high school class buddy with whom I rambled with about MGS back in the day, so we exchanged phone numbers and e-mail addresses and stuff, which was cool. :D

• I FINALLY finished season 2 of Dexter! Unfortunately, Dexter suffers the same fate as Heroes in that its first season is absolutely phenomenal and then its second season is uh.... not. D: Still, while the ending was kind of dissatisfying to me, it was a hell of a lot better than the middle of the season. FOR BOTH SHOWS I WISH THE BEST OF LUCK FOR SEASON 3.

• Speaking of Heroes: Watched the deleted scenes on Court's s2 DVDs... AND NOW I KNOW WHERE NATHAN DISAPPEARED TO IN S2, JESUS. !Deleted Scenes, S2, and S3-Teaser spoilers! )

It was also really cool to see MOAR NATHANSdkfjshfds ::foams at mouth:: the alternate ending for S2 and all of the now-unuseable footage that came of it. Definitely makes the DVDs of an otherwise disappointing season worth the money for a hardcore Heroes fan IMHO.

...AND I NEED TO WORK MORE ON BATMAN APP AHHHHHHHH and omg SYLAR AND PETER DUKIN' IT OUT KINDA WOOO

I feel so very, very warm and fuzzy after reading the comments on that RP compliments meme. SO GLAD YOU GUYS LOVE OUR BABY AS MUCH AS WE DO. ;_; <3333

Also glad that people generally seem to like the new userinfo. Gonna go read me some apps now, woo! ...Or Anthro reading, whichever seems more important at the time. >_>;

Also, Re: English class: the original versions of Little Red Riding Hood are so pornographic, jesus. D: SUPERNATURAL, YOU LIED TO ME. The Grimms version was actually the least disturbing. (Aside from the scissors part. When I read that part of the short stories, I could not get Dean out of my head. :|)

ORITE AND HOUSE YESTERDAY. (YESTERDAY, WTF???) I cannot believe how gay this season is. Gaygaygaygaygay. Like, seriously, WHUT HOUSE. I love how Wilson just rolls with it, all like "why, yes, it's perfectly normal for House to be this possessive over my fine ass" and yes, I actually like Amber. :3

Also, if House continues to be at 9PM on Mondays next September, I MIGHT HAVE TO SMACK A BITCH AND I THINK YOU KNOW WHY.

And I'm STIIIIILLLLLLL INNNNN A DREEEEAAAAMMMM where House was trying to catch Dexter and expose him as a serial killer, and then the climactic scene ended up being an inquisition on Dexter that turned into a surprise birthday party. And he had a lime-colored shirt on. And this Starbucks barista looked like Mohinder.

HELLO, NEW FANDOMSECRETS FRIENDS ♥ ♥ ♥ !!! Not one but TWO of you guys involved CRAZY coincidences, oh my god. And as both of you two are into Heroes, I THINK YOU'LL UNDERSTAND WHEN I SAY I HOPE THIS MEANS WE'RE ABOUT TO DEVELOP SUPERPOWERS OR SOMETHING. Since, you know, they go hand-in-hand with impossible coincidences. :X

(Also, I apologize in advance to you guys for caps and incessant babble. THEY ARE PART OF WHO I AM. And if you wonder who this "Court" is who I always talk about and yell "godammit" at, it's [livejournal.com profile] burningvigor and I'm yelling "godammit" at her because she got me thoroughly fixated on Nathan Heroes, as much as I resisted through staunch denial. D:)

Umm, in regards to not fandomsecrets... been working on that vampire!Dean fic, though I skulked off to play Guitar Hero. I FEEL LIKE I'M GETTING BETTER AT HITTING THOSE CRAZYFAST NOTES. ...I mean, not the CRAZYcrazy fast notes, but uh... the ones between fast and crazyfast. D: I don't make any sense.

Also, I really, really need to get caught up on Dexter. Everyone's telling me that Doakes is amazing in that first of the three episodes I haven't seen and kadsjfhs need to catch up my mom with the show in general too.

Should get back to writing now, though. WOO. ...or sleeping.

Edit: Oh, also: TADAAAAH, cafepress test-drive bumper sticker. I AM VERY PROUD even if I stole the slogan from some other t-shirt that I think [livejournal.com profile] geminion got but which doesn't exist anymore. ;[ I am so going to put it on my bumper once my car isn't so filthy.

.....GODAMMIT, COURT.

SO. WRITER'S STRIKE. WE ALL KNEW IT WAS COMING. TIME TO WAIT FOR THOSE LAST FEW EPISODES, THEN HUNKER DOWN ON FANFICTION AND SURVIVE THE SPRING HIATUS.

Thoughts. )

In other news, my parents are gonna be in Paris for nine days, so Evan and I have run of the house for that time. Went by Vons last night and bought a bunch of quasi-junk-food that my mom would never let us get--Lucky Charms, Eggos, Ore-Ida fries.... and then oatmeal and brown sugar, but uh, that's not junk food. XD;

The bad thing about this is that I have to get up around 6:45 to take my brother to school, though I can then go back home and sleep, so it's not such a big deal, although today it kind of sucked because I was planning on getting up again around 11 but NO. I HAD LADYCRAMPS AND THAT MADE ME BEDRIDDEN FOR A COUPLE MORE HOURS.

Gonna take my brother to take pictures of restaurants... or... something for the school newspaper. Should shower. Wooo~

Did I mention I got the S2 Supernatural DVDs recently? 8D Ehehehehehe.... AND ALSO, SORRY, NANOSTORY; I CHEATED ON YOU WITH MY SPN FIC. ;___;

GOT TO FREEBIRD ON HARD MODE ON NOT-QUICKPLAY AND NOW I CAN'T BEAT IT AGAIN. ;_; auughghhjfj,sd

Man, haven't updated in a while, huh? Well, HERE WE GO.

I had some pretty EPIC fandom dreams last month or so, including:

THE EPIC FANDOM DREAMS )

ALSO. THIS GUY NEEDS A NAME. I have a plot, background, personality and everything figured out for him, but NO NAME. I've been debating between like... Alec, Matt, and Marc, and someone said maybe Jacob, but I'd be open to any other suggestions. He's a good-natured detective with a wife back home trying to quit smoking and on this uh... heavily-shrouded case thing. In a post-apocalyptic underground world. He also of course has a sekrit tragic past, but that would be a SPOILER. (Ohgoditallsoundsocliche) PLZ TO BE HELPING ME, I DREW THIS DOODLE ESPECIALLY FOR YOU, F-LIST and I need help since I'm going to be trying out NaNo this year and this guy is a main character in the original story I wanna work on. 8D;

I THINK THAT'S ALL THE BABBLE I HAVE. THE END.

OH WAIT NO. HOUSE TONIGHT. AND DEXTER ON SUNDAY. EEEEEEEEE AND CSI ON THURSDAY, BUT THAT'S A HORRIBLY INACCURATE AND OVER-THE-TOP AND SCRIPTED AND TERRIBLE SHOW AND WHY WOULD I EVER BE COMPLETELY ADDICTED TO RERUNS ON SPIKE AND HAVE DOWNLOADED THE SEASON FINALE PFFFF it's my guilty pleasure aaaauuugghhh

Oh, and also, I've been doing figure drawing on Sunday and we've read pretty much ALL THE APPS WOOO just need to send out the last e-mails now.

SO.

I HAVE A NEW FAVORITE SHOW, AND IT IS CALLED

Seriously, it's awesome, it's fun, it's thought-provoking, and it's ADDICTIVE. My mom's the one who got me hooked on this one--she watched, like, the entire first season off of On Demand in one night, so I figured I'd give it a shot, and hocrap it's amazing. It's like a mix of premium-channel drama, police procedural, and PSYCHO-KILLER FUN, plus major moral questioning and introspection.

So yeah, I got Court hooked too, and we finished the last episode of Season 1 (the only one out so far) tonight. TWISTS AND TURNS ABOUND. Seriously, the final twist is... CRAZY and totally cool. It also helps that the music is great and the visuals are stellar, and kjdshfkas I should have watched it sooner. (It's weird, because although I saw a bunch of billboard advertisements for it when it first came out, but I was under the impression it was just going to be a normal police procedural that was edgier than usual because it was going to be on Showtime.)

ANYWAY. It's awesome, and I'm really happy to have a new show to watch in place of Rome come next season. (As awesome as House is, it was sad to only have one show to follow every week. D:) SO YAAAY. :DDD WOO.

EDIT: ALSO, notice Dexter has been added to the Requested Characters list at [livejournal.com profile] damned. NOTICE. Although I kinda am tempted to read the novels and then try to app for him kasjfhaksf

EDIT-EDIT: ALSO, [livejournal.com profile] endless_abyss! (Aka Sabrina, but I thought that'd catch your attention better. XD;) I remember Andrew was asking me if I knew any series similar to Death Note so that you could share them with your DN board? WELL, I have to say, Dexter is the only show I've come across that's anything like Death Note, and it's actually remarkably so. It has the whole "killing for a higher purpose" and questionable morals thing going, as well as the dramatic irony of Dexter being a serial killer and none of his police force co-workers realizing it. (There's even an arc where Dexter's own unit is investigating one of his murders and trying to catch him, and he's trying to throw them off from the inside.) The main difference between Dexter and Light, though, is that Dexter has no choice but to kill and makes the best of it, whereas Light makes a conscious decision, as well as the fact that Dexter refuses to kill innocent people, even if it's to his benefit, unlike our favorite god-complexed teenager.

...THAT'S ALL. :D;
