It's official: my motif final paper for Film 1 shall be me rambling on about HOW AWESOME TWO-FACE AND HIS COIN ARE.

Trying to figure out a topic for a persuasive speech that I actually want to do and that my inappropriately conservative Speech 1 teacher won't grade low on principle is, however, not so sweet. :(

I've got debate papers (which are basically persuasive speeches in a different format) on more nuclear power, no national healthcare, that the FAA should take over Santa Monica Airport, and that the movie ratings system need to be overhauled. And I'll be writing in favor of a bullet train in California and outlawing firearms in the US. Any of those tickle your fancy? XD

What, why? XD Though I actually disagree on outlawing firearms – the same thing would happen with Prohibition and the war on drugs in that people would find ways to get them anyway, and we'd end up with firearms solely illegally distributed, which would make them even harder to track and regulate than it is now. Plus, manufacturing would be done less by legal companies and more by crime syndicates, which means even more hell for third-world countries and more malfunctioning firearms, which could lead to even more deaths.

So yeah, gun control and strict regulations? Totally for. Complete gun outlawing? Not so much. Same reason why I think drugs should start being legalized for recreational – but regulated – use, even though I have great disdain for them.

You people and getting to write awesome papers. :[ I really hope that once I start getting more into my major courses, I get to write fun stuff like that that won't bore me to tears to write.
