Went to that Mayan exhibit today with my art class. Mwahaha. The tourguide woman was informing but kind of condescending. Whatever. Their overpriced food was surprisingly good. And I got to miss third, fourth, and fifth; that was cool. (Well, actually, we came back in the middle of fifth, but I sort of just hung out in the AP Art room. My conscience is clean due the fact that a random doodle of a dancing lake girl would have never existed otherwise.)

Arrgghhh I am stuck at the library now, and I would amuse myself with posting for people except that I have... no one... to post for. At the moment.

Called the number on the card the guy gave me yesterday at lunch, and they really do seem like they want to hire me. ("Between you and me, I was really impressed with your stuff, more than anyone else's. The school has some strange internship rules, but we'll try to work around them.") Yeah, that was an ego-boost. XD; Ms. Bouse has been telling everyone about my good fortune, rofl. She's so sweet. <3 This is the website of the company, btw, though a lot of the awesome things in the book that the guy showed to me (DANTE) aren't represented there.

Arrgghhh I wanna take a nap. Fifteen more minutes of sitting here? Ughhhhhhahhhh.

Er, yeah! He sounded familiar when the guy pointed him out in the book sample thing and said he ran the company and everything. I'm guessing he's well-known? XD; ::So dumb when it comes to American comics.:: I love Batman to death, but superhero comics tend to have so many different universes and series and editions and generations and crazy fans that I've been too intimidated to really get into them much. T_T;

Yeah, he started on Witchblade back in the day and eventually left Top Cow to form his own company [Aspen]. He does quite well from what I understand; I heard one of titles was optioned for a film, funds from this might have been what he used to start his own publishing gig.

You know my advice. Watch it all from a business standpoint-draw later. ((^_^))

Well, the reason they want me is because they want to use me as an art slave, but I'm already very wary of them trying to rope me into some kind of contract that'll limit my own personal growth. (Assuming the experience does my art any help at all. Hoho.) But yeah, the opportunity to see how the actual cutthroat business world works as opposed to the somewhat-more-safe college environment will definitely be a good lesson, methinks. I still want to major in character animation in college, after all, so I don't want to settle with anything before then until I've at least given that a shot--and hopefully, this experience will help me to that end. X3

XD; Yeah, I just really hope nothing goes wrong... or it ends up being a horrible disappointment. Ms. Bouse is really the one who should get credit here, (my art teacher); she's the one who like had me in mind when she gave the go for the company to give their sales pitch to the class. <3 She's SO nice, augh.

Hmmm, weird... I don't even have a sixth period either. Wtf.

Then again, I do vaguely remember hearing something about having to get an ROP permit signed by your parents and everything to be employed, so maybe the internships are under that general umbrella as well... (then again, I am eighteen now, so it should be a moot point anyway).

Anyway, I have a feeling it'll work out in the end, mostly because I have teachers and parents working in my favor. Mohaha.
