Picspam of my favorite ever hotass LiqSnake fanarts from my favorite ever MGS fanart site. Absolutely NO MGS4-related art or spoilers, but quite a lot of pining for indulgent A/U. And making a goofy fool of myself. Yeah, me. Pining for A/U. WTF IS WRONG WITH ME. Unfortunately, this fanart site has since been shut down, but luckily for me, I cleaned house with saving the images before that happened.

To preface, while I realize that most of this is incredibly OOC...



...this artist makes me crave a well-written, realistically characterized A/U Liquid/Snake-as-actual-brothers fanfiction like no one's business.

I MEAN, LOOK AT THEM.







GODDAMMIT I FEEL ASHAMED BY INDULGENCE BUT AM TOO DAMN INDULGED TO CARE. OH, A/U LIQUID. If circumstances hadn't pushed him in the direction of becoming an evil megalomaniac (which I absolutely ADORE HIM AS, don't get me wrong), I can totally see him as having become a less malicious (but equally self-absorbed) version of his super-badass but ultimately incompetent self, overly ambitious, ridiculously competitive, and constantly making a big, melodramatic, wildly gestured stink over any perceived injustice done against him.



Like so.

And Snake would deal with it with dry humor. And angry insults. Lots of insults.



And emo, apparently. ...OH, SNAKE.

And as if the idea of them being partner FOXHOUND operatives isn't enough to make me die from my own immature (but wholly awesome) desires, the artist has to throw them into a fully MGS3 jungle setting. Yes, I know the other ones are all MGS3 themed but shhhhhhhh





Clearly, they do not have the fortitude of their father.

I am also way too attracted to the idea of Liquid being able to expose ultimate badass Snake's physical or emotional vulnerability in some way (by non-con force in the actual canon, but also otherwise in A/U) due to his unique connection with him as a twin/brother/clone and his general obsessive/amoral/melodramatic/crazy-ass nature. This is the basis of my love for this pairing.





OF COURSE, this does not mean I want ultimate badass Snake reduced to a wimpy, big-eyed, crybaby uke, which is why I LOVE THIS ARTIST SO. I get indulgent blush and shit, but they still draw both of them like REAL MEN. Dunno what they're saying in that text but uh benefit of the doubt.

The below picture I can't even attempt to justify as anything more than complete crack, but it's pritty, so I'm posting it anyway.

LIQUID IS NOT AMUSED, though I am, since Liquid/Snake is my favorite MGS pairing and Snake/Raiden is Court's. (THREESOME TIEM? Though I doubt Liquid likes to share uh... ...anything.)

And now a departure from our scheduled gay because DaddySnake is a bad muthafucka.



Now, one of my favorite pictures of DaddySnake and the guy who wishes he was MommySnake (but who isn't because Big Boss is really fucking straight, unlike, you know, EVERY OTHER MAN IN THAT SERIES). I absolutely love the idea of Ocelot being eternally, tragically gay for Big Boss, but I'm not so big on Big Boss returning any of it. Let's face it: the man loves the ladies and I love EVA, so I ain't gonna intervene.

My bottom line is that I fucking adore Liquid in any way, shape, or form for reasons I can only partially explain, and I am ecstatic that my previously only vaguely founded, indulgent ideas of his characterization have been constantly and concretely reinforced during the course of this game.

Oh, and I also love him banging Snake, whether it looks like this or this or this.

I have never played one of the MGS games, but. BUT. I'D SHIP IT BECAUSE OF THE FANART ALONE.

HAHAHA INORITE. And OMG YOU SHOULD PLAY SOMEHOW because the MGS games are absolutely amazing. Kinda hard to get the hang of the gameplay for a first-timer, but totally worth it for the simultaneously convoluted plot and brilliant storytelling, plus awesome characters and AESTHETIC PLEASINGNESS.

Also, the characters are generally 30+ and then get older as the games go by, so. RIGHT AGE SPECTRUM. Not to mention there is near-gay and comical gay and RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF CANON GAY ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE. Seriously, off the top of my head, I can think of two bonified canon slash couples (one of which involves one of the main villains and is a crucial part of a mission), two instances of intentional man-on-man crotch-groping, one instance of a male character stroking his crotch knife sheath MEANINGFULLY in front of another male character, one instance of male-on-male forced forehead pressing, one instance of male-on-male desperate leg clinging, two male characters living/working together for about nine years, one instance of one guy being tortured by another guy with metal tentacles, and another instance of the same guy being tortured by the same other guy with metal tentacles while restrained and fully naked. And that's not even including the multiple quasi-canon Easter eggs/extra canon (male character saying "THAT EXPLAINS A LOT" to another male character about a saved photo of manly abs; one male character kissing another male character on the cheek while grappling; implication from a female character of a male character's INFATUATION with another male character), and the non-canon extra joke cinemas, which include two man-on-man kisses and more groping.

HOLY SHIT that's a lot of CANON GAY, and I applaud you like crazy for remembering all of that off the top of your head. THEN AGAIN, WITH SO MUCH LOVELY IN-GAME SLASH FODDER WHO WOULDN'T?

I--will have to get around to poking my way into this game series, it seems.

YEAH, WELL, THEY'RE ALL VERY MEMORABLE UH... MOMENTS? And you definitely should give it a try, especially since they recently released all three of the first games in a single $30 collection; one's for PS1, and two are for PS2. (I mean, if you like, borrowed it from someone already and liked it or something. 8D;) The original MGS doesn't have much gay (aside from a run-of-the-mill torture scene and uh... Liquid Snake), but after that, it COMES OUT IN FULL FORCE and only gets better worse as the series progresses. MGS4 upped the ante even more, which I didn't think could be possible until now.

Of course, aside from the gratuitous gay, this series is awesome in terms of plot and character development (the first one is pretty rough-around-the-edges, but it's a good first step!), and it's one of the only series I've seen that consciously uses the interactivity of the video game medium to enhance the plot or to illustrate the meaning of the message they're trying to express, most notably in MGS2 (although the format of a lot of the storytelling in that one uh... kinda needs work XD). At the same time, they get progressively more cinematic as the series progresses, and in MGS4... holy crap, not only are the cutscenes EPIC, but some of the playable scenes genuinely feel like being in the middle of a blood-pumping action movie.

WAIT WHAT THE HELL AM I SAYING one of the two possible endings (which unfortunately isn't the canon one) has two men RIDING OFF INTO THE SUNSET ON A SMALL SNOWMOBILE TOGETHER, DOING EMOTIONAL BONDING AND LAUGHING OVER THEIR MATCHING NAMES WHILE ONE CLASPS THE OTHER'S TORSO
