Been kind of lively lately with.... life! Or something.
My dad is leaving his job as director of Environmental and Public Works in the middle of March, which is really weird considering he's been working for the City of Santa Monica for 25 years. He's been having big and small parties thrown for him by his bosses/co-workers/employees these past couple of weeks, the last of which was a big bash at this shi-shi restaurant where he got some really nice gifts and really nice speeches. To give some perspective: my dad's a pretty big environmentalist and has spent most of those 25 years working to get the city to change things to help lessen its environmental impact on the ocean and air. And though, as one of the speakers jokingly pointed out, he drives a very gas-efficient Ford Mustang and plays the very environmental sport of golf, he really has worked long and hard to achieve that goal, and even now, is moving to a new job with an environmentalist, non-profit organization. The downside is he's going to have to commute to Irvine, but his new employers are paying him extra to cover the cost of a natural gas car that he can use to breeze through the car pool lane (hopefully). In any case, I'm proud of him, though it's still weird he won't be working there anymore.
Also, parking at SMC is fucking ridiculous. My time management workshop professor makes us explain why we were late when we don't show up to class on time, which is understandable given the class itself, but I'm sorry: When I show up to school 30 minutes before class starts and I'm still 30 minutes late because it takes an hour for me to find a parking spot in either of the two huge parking structures, I start to think that maybe the problem isn't all me, and that maybe SMC should stop overselling the $75 parking permits for a product they don't seem to have to worry about delivering on. This happened once on Monday, and when I left fifteen minutes earlier on Wednesday and still found both parking lots full, I literally said 'fuck it' and went back home once I'd confirmed with my mom that, yeah, it would be stupid to take the effort of driving around for an hour to find a spot so that I could spend a half hour in a class where the professor would just try to tell me every way I could have not been late instead of appreciating that I stuck around so long to spend so little time in the class in the first place. Like leaving two hours ahead of time. Oh yes, so practical, and though the professor uses 'you can pick the class time in college for your individual needs' as a reason why we certainly shouldn't be late no matter what time we're accustomed to waking up, that class was only offered in the morning. SO YEAH? And like I said, if it were a normal class, hell yeah I'd show up no matter how late, but it's not. It's a workshop that's supposed to help me out, but so far, it's the same 'well-duh' and generalized 'all you need to do is be a better person' condescending lectures that I've heard all my life instead of actual planning and a professor actually taking into account that it's harder for us, people who most likely have ADD, to organize ourselves easily than it is for someone who, yeah, teaches a time organization workshop.
ARGGGHHHHH I sound so whiny, but seriously, making me explain why I was late = okay. Handing me that day's handout once I was late, which is basically some moral-instilling story about some girl whose professor won't accept a fifteen-minute-late paper, and then having us condemn the girl as the only one responsible for her failing the class = extreme situation and makes me feel not so okay. A COUNSELING WORKSHOP IS SUPPOSED TO BE SUPPORTIVE TO HELP ME, NOT TRY TO GUILT ME OUT OF MY HORRIBLE TRANSGRESSIONS AGAINST SOCIETY(???).
Whatever, I'm just going to have my mom drop me off in the morning from now on and take the bus back.
BUT HAPPIER THINGS: On the video game front, I've been playing lots of Pokémon and I beat the Elite Four and the Champion on my first try! YAAAAY! Time for the Pal Park and filling up the National Dex, which is.... tough considering I don't have any GBA Pokémon games. But my brother does. So I guess I'll steal that.

TONIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT and I hope to god they DID change my pre-order to Brawl instead of Galaxy. >:[ ....OKAY CALLED THEM and they did. AWESOME.
OH and got ahold of Max and we've caught up on Supernatural and she's watched more Heroes.

Wanted to get her up to the "CLAIRE'S-FATHER-IS-FUCKING-NATHAN" revelation. And I DID and in fact at the end of the episode before it, where you first see her bio-mom, my mom walked in and was like "Oh, what part are you guys at?" and I was like "When you find out who her biological mother is" and my mom was like "OH AND THEN HER FA--" and I was like "SHHHHHHHHH GODDAMMIT."
Also, Max has been very good at pointing out the Petrelli awesomeness on her own. Like commenting when I said Nathan was a total douche that "YOU CAN TELL HE CARES A LOT ABOUT HIS BROTHER THOUGH" and all "d'aaawwww"ing at the hospital KISS TENDERNESS nonsense. Oh, Petrellis <3333
As far as Spn, we watched those first and she was all "AHAHA" and then "BAAAW" at Groundhog Day like everyone is. And ummmmm she thought Henrickson was gonna be a hunter too until he DIED wtf. DDDD: <3333 EEEEE MOAR IN APRIL CAN'T WAIT. WANT TO WORK ON THE FUCKING CROSSOVER ALREADY OR... SOMETHING. D8

Went flying with Andrew last night. LA lights at night are gorgeous. <3 And then we got Ben & Jerry's and watched some Sunny, which we'll hopefully continue with tonight as we wait for Brawl. :D
